- Ideally do this just after brushing, spit out the excess toothpaste so you don't swallow it and make a start.
- Think of a circuit that starts right at the back of the top jaw ideally behind the very back tooth.
- Push the brush through the gap (you can bend it at 90degrees or even put a curve in it to make it easier). Use a brushing motion to clean where the gum meets the tooth.
- Often the little triangle of gum that sits between the teeth is loose, try and get under it. NOTE if the gums bleed its because they are inflamed, they need more cleaning and if you are thorough, they will bleed less next time.
- Move methodically around the mouth going from gap to gap in a circuit from top right to top left then bottom left to bottom right.
- Have a good spit. Rinse with water if there is a lot of blood - it will bleed less each day you do this. If its not bleeding just spit out the excess toothpaste and leave the rest to sit around the teeth.
